Jumping Into Action for Los Angeles Fire Relief

CCS Facility Services Team Jumps into Action to Help with Los Angeles Fire Relief

When wildfires tore through neighborhoods near Pasadena and Altadena, families were left reeling. Homes and businesses were reduced to rubble, and local organizations looked to fellow Angelenos to help provide food, school supplies, cleaning materials, and other essentials for those who had lost everything.

“Things like diapers or paper towels may seem small, but in a disaster they’re essentials,” Tony Ramirez, Los Angeles General Manager, explained. “Our team was proud to step in and make sure those needs were met.”

Coordinating Relief Through BOMA

CCS Facility Services joined the effort through its partnership with the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), where Business Development Manager Sharifa Dorsainvil served on the charity committee. That role allowed her to help identify and support the organizations most in need: Friends In Deed, Ronald McDonald House, and the YMCA.

With support from CCS Facility Services leadership, General Manager Tony Ramirez and the Los Angeles team, the company mobilized quickly: purchasing, packing, and transporting donated goods. Sharifa even brought her daughter to help organize supplies into care bags, each tailored to the different needs of the three nonprofits.
Supplies on the Move

Donations flowed in from companies and buildings across Los Angeles, ranging from toiletries and diapers to mattresses, bedding, and cleaning supplies. CCS Facility Services provided trucks to transport the supplies, ensuring they reached each nonprofit. In some cases, CCS Facility Services employees personally delivered goods.

“It was overwhelming to see how much was donated,” Sharifa recalled. “There were warehouses full of items, and the relief felt by families made every effort worthwhile.”

A Day of Service

The fire relief distribution was a community-wide effort, drawing in volunteers and companies from across the city. For CCS Facility Services employees, it became both a day of service and a reminder of their role in supporting not only clients but the communities where they live and work.

As Tony Ramirez explained, “The wildfires hit hard, but the response showed the best of people. Our team was glad to be part of an effort that brought real help to families in need.”

Looking Ahead

Whatever comes next, the Los Angeles team knows that service is in their DNA. They live CCS Facility Services’ mission every day: showing up for customers, colleagues, and communities in need.
