For Consuelo Perez, the American Dream has been built quietly—through steady work, courage in the face of uncertainty, and an unwavering commitment to family. It isn’t about recognition or shortcuts. It’s about stability, growth, and creating opportunities not just for herself, but for her son and for the people who come after her.
Consuelo was first introduced to the cleaning industry by her sister and brother when she moved from Albuquerque to Denver. “I didn’t even know this industry existed,” she laughs in memory.

Instead of seeing that gap as a limitation, her supervisor saw her drive and enterprising nature as raw potential. He trained her from the ground up, and for the next two years, Consuelo balanced supervising teams while mastering floor work. From there, she was promoted to night manager, overseeing 14 buildings, and then continued rising through the ranks, becoming an Account Manager, a Senior Account Manager, and eventually, a District Manager.
When Consuelo first approached CCS Facility Services in 2016, there wasn’t an open role for her. Still, she knew where she wanted to be. “I wanted to work for CCS Facility Services,” she says. “I wanted to make a change to grow to benefit my family, and I wanted to make that change with the right company.”
Company leaders admired her tenacity. “I remember the first day I met Consuelo,” recalls Troy Coker, CCS Facility Services founder and CEO.
“She had such a quality about her: smart, determined, motivated. We didn’t even have a position open at the time, but we could tell that she was special, so we created a new role for her,” shares Coker.
“She is directly related to our success in Denver, and I’m so proud that she is part of our team.” Consuelo joined the CCS team as a Senior Account Manager, and was promoted to General Manager not long after.
Throughout her early years in the industry, she continued to learn English, becoming fluent over time, though she still knows the importance of communicating with Spanish-speaking staff in their native language. She is often called upon at CCS Facility Services to conduct bilingual trainings for frontline teams—an invaluable skill and benefit for the company and the staff.
Consuelo attributes much of her professional growth to personal sacrifice. As a single mother to two sons, Consuelo worked late nights and weekends, often managing accounts that operated 24/7. Once a month, she spent Saturdays doing floor work, knowing how important it was to understand that part of the business. The hours were long, and it meant that time with her children was often somewhat limited. With the support of her family, Consuelo pushed forward, knowing that this hard work was what would allow her to continue moving forward. That belief pushed her through the hardest moments.
At times, she felt guilty and once apologized to her boys for not always being there when they needed her. Her older son’s response changed everything.
“He told me he understood why I was working so hard and asked how he could help so I wouldn’t have to work as much,” Consuelo recalls.
“I told him he could help me by focusing on his responsibilities: doing well in school, completing his homework independently, and being accountable.”
Her elder son did exactly that, graduating from college and becoming a mechanical and later a civil engineer. Giving her sons a great future continues to drive Consuelo. “My younger son is my drive and strength now. I want to always support him to succeed like my oldest has. I’m incredibly proud of my boys.”
Despite her confidence, Consuelo admits to occasionally experiencing imposter syndrome. “I often think, ‘Am I going to be able to succeed at this next step?’” she says. What has made the difference is the belief of those around her. When she was promoted to General Manager in 2022, she asked Regional Vice President Jesus Guerrero if he believed she could do it. His support was incredibly affirmative and encouraging.
What continues to motivate Consuelo is the people in this industry. She finds fulfillment in helping others grow, teaching them, and being someone they can rely on. “When someone thanks me for helping them or learning something new, that’s what keeps me going.” And in fact, there is a long line of CCS Facility Services colleagues who can attest to her service heart.
For Consuelo, the American Dream means stability: owning a home, planning for retirement, supporting her children throughout school and beyond, and watching them build lives without constant struggle. And for those working toward their own dream, her advice is clear: “Don’t give up, don’t be afraid, trust yourself, and tune out negativity,” she says. “With hard work, dedication, and believing in yourself, everything pays off.”
