Responsibility to Our Teammates
Our business is built on our people. When employees feel cared for and satisfied in their jobs, they deliver excellent service to our customers.
At CCS Facility Services, we are committed to acting responsibly and taking care of our employees, which is reflected in our industry-leading retention rates. Our annual employee turnover is less than half the national average for the janitorial industry. Taking care of our people is not only the right thing to do but also smart business in the long term.
Frontline staff have challenging and often invisible jobs. Recognizing their efforts is crucial to ensuring they feel heard, seen, and appreciated. Our culture of recognition has positively impacted staff retention. In fact, 93% of our staff recommends CCS Facility Services as a great place to work. Our team are our greatest recruiters! Supervisors and above engage in ongoing professional development, including emotional intelligence training and management reading “book clubs” to discuss leadership topics and learn from each other. These initiatives create more engaged leaders and better managers, benefiting both their professional and personal lives. Employee safety is critical. We have a robust communication system for health and safety messages, ensuring staff are informed and up-to-date.
Finally, we prioritize promoting from within. Many of our supervisors, managers, and senior team members started as frontline staff. This experience fosters collaborative and thoughtful leadership.

CCS is committed to exceeding every customer’s expectations. While this commitment always includes top-notch service, reliability, and accountability, CCS strives to provide value-added services that will help facilities improve their service to building occupants even more, whether it’s wellness, infection prevention, or sustainability.
Sometimes, customers need help building these programs from the ground up, and CCS is there to help. CCS staff are certified in a range of wellness accreditations, which means availability to deliver in-house expertise to help customers achieve WELL and Fitwel certifications. We also aid many customers in achieving LEED certification due to our expansive sustainability program. As our customer needs evolve, so does our investment in training and education to support those needs.
In providing these value-added services to meet customer needs, we are proud to be contributing to the well-being of customers, employees, and the general public in each of our communities.
Responsibility to Our Planet
At CCS Facility Services, being environmentally friendly is non-negotiable. We prioritize sustainability in our policies and procedures, from purchasing environmentally preferable products to implementing idling alerts on company vehicles. We minimize transportation distances for staff and supplies, perform preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles, and reduce energy use in our headquarters and branches. We also train employees in industry-leading, green cleaning practices that comply with LEED requirements whenever possible, even if our clients don’t require it. This approach helps us protect both the planet and our bottom line.
CCS Facility Services’ Goals Around Environment, Social, and Governance Initiatives
CCS Facility Services has been a leader in the facility services industry in excellence in customer service and how we treat our people, and we take very seriously our responsibilities to the communities in which we do business. This has been the right thing to do for people and for the business, and we are very proud of the work we have done to date.
But we never rest on our laurels. CCS Facility Services is committed to building upon our ESG vision and delivering positive impact through a comprehensive ESG Program. The following environmental, social, and governance goals represent our corporate citizenship roadmap:
Environmental Goals
- Reduce per-employee GHG emissions 10% by 2025 compared to 2019 baseline
- Collect improved GHG data to conduct a more accurate inventory of branch and corporate office energy consumption
Social Goals
- Increase diversity in leadership by providing upward mobility opportunities for field staff
- Maintain an 80% internal promotion rate
Increase employee retention rate by 10% by 2025 - Expand our focus on equity & inclusion by establishing a DEI committee
- Engage 100% of management in DEI training by 2023
Governance Goals
- Discuss ESG topics at the Board level quarterly
- Maintain an industry-leading cybersecurity and data privacy program
- Report on our progress by publishing an annual ESG Report starting in FY22
